Opening Prayer – Tom Buck; Jorge Quiles prayed for tomorrow’s election

Devotion – Steve Martin

As men on the front lines, God calls Ranger leaders to be godly men.

5 Characteristics

  1. Step up – lead, initiate, be a man of action. Reject passivity. God called the army to be courageous as examples. Ezek. 22:30 I searched for a man to stand in the gap
  2. Speak out – Silence in the midst of sin is a sin. Be courageous, fear God, not man. Better is open rebuke than love that is concealed; Faithful are the wounds of a friend. Prov. 27: 5-6 give a defense for the hope that is in you with gentleness 1 Pet. 3:15
  3. Stand strong – Don’t give in when you’re challenged, attacked or criticized. Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord 1 Cor. 15:58. Be of sober spirit, on the alert; your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion 1 Pet. 5:8.
  4. Stay humble – Be vigilant against pride. Don’t think less of yourself; think of yourself less. May the righteous strike me with mercy and discipline me; It is oil for the head; My head shall not refuse it, For my prayer is still against their evil deeds. Psalm 141:5.
    Younger men be subject to your leaders. Clothe yourself with humility. God gives grace to the humble James 4:6. He will exalt you at the proper time 1 Pet. 5:6. Casting all our anxiety on him 1 Pet. 5:7
  5. Serve the king – Seek first his righteousness Matt 6:33. Son of man did not come to be served but to serve and give his live as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45

Micah 6:7-8 He has shown you oh man what is good. What does the lord require of you? Love justice, show mercy, walk humbly with your God. When he has our hearts, we will do His work.

Sectional Leaders Report – John Fudalik

  • Finished the paperwork for the grant and sent it in. Will be starting application for next phase, focusing on BB gun and air rifle to replace old equipment. 1 pump with lever, like Daisy Red Ryders. BB goes in barrel.
  • In touch with Centershot to get materials to do archery classes to teach other commanders to be trainers. Will open up signups after he gets the paperwork.

Chartering – Al Barber

  • 4 more outposts in NJ have chartered since last month. 4 outposts in section have not yet chartered.
  • 115, 122, 148, 162 have not chartered
  • Al will send a copy to Rhoda for distribution to section.

Training – Al Barber

  • Same info from last month.

District PowWow recap –

  • Good turnout for one-day event. Was difficult to plan for because of the COVID situation. Would be good if paperwork could be consolidated into fewer pages.
  • Lots of people went fishing, and the rest of the events suffered because of that…not many at the events in the morning, and then lots in the afternoon.

Ranger Derby – Steve Martin

  • March 5, 2022 at Grace & Peace
  • Roundtable the Monday before to bring cars

Laser Tag

Due to lack of response, will not be an event sponsored by the Section, so GAP & CL responsible for any COVID protocols.

Sectional PowWow –

  • Would need to be June 10-12, 2022 because June 5th is Pentecost Sunday.
  • If restrictions are still in place, we will need a lot of tents since only siblings could sleep together. If we are in a State Park or Boy Scout Camp, we need to follow their guidelines.
  • Possible location: Calvary Lighthouse. Would need to check out the location, determine what types of activities (council fire, cook fires, etc.) are allowed.
  • Look into possibility of using the gym for archery on the Saturday of the PowWow.
  • Would need to figure out parking for trailers, etc. that would not interfere with Sunday church services.
  • Could check out the Boy Scout camp in Barnegat.
  • Allaire, Quail Hill – John will check
  • Turkey Swamp? Needs to be contacted by someone who lives in Monmouth County.
