NJ EAST CENTRAL SOUTH SECTION
Royal Rangers Roundtable
May 1, 2017

Opening Prayer – Steve Jenkins

Devotion – John Fudalik

Thoughts for Young Men (J.C. Ryle) – The Devil is trying to destroy people. It’s hard to get out of his snare. We can control the leaders we allow within our midst. The only God some of the boys see are on Ranger nights. Job kept his faith despite the attacks he received from all sides. We need to keep the faith before the boys.

Sectional Leaders Report – John Fudalik

Campsites are paid for; the only additional expenses will be the love gift for the guest speaker, trophies, patches and whatever is needed for RK.

Sectional PowWow – Aaron Biernacki

Last year: 82 boys attended, including RK
Aaron needs info for RK Field Day for the packet. We have a patch, and will be making a plaque for the person whose patch was chosen.
Email Aaron an estimated number of boys you expect will attend.
$178 for 200 embroidered patches. Check to see if there’s a price difference between iron-on and sew-on patches.
Steve J and Aaron will work on the council fire.
MWC – Sunday morning Devotion – John Marmion
Sunday worship? Aaron will send out email asking for volunteers…
Sunday School for ER/Leaders – Preston Spencer
PowWow events – Aaron has received one so far; other outposts are working on theirs
RKs go fishing in the morning; other boys not allowed to go to the lake until after events are done, after lunch.
If your outpost plans hikes, etc. that require transportation, make sure you include that on your permission slips to allow them to be transported offsite.
Make boys aware of ticks. Good product to spray on clothes beforehand: Permethrin
Wristbands only for guests; leaders will wear lanyards.
Park Service is “working on” the toilet facilities.
Make sure the Pastor signs the registration form.
RK Field Day – Devotional with special guest, JB Beaver. Games: Catapult, Obstacle Course, Fishing. Want church van convoy to fishing. Section supplies bait; bring your own rods.
All leaders need to follow the rules (timing of when boys go to fishing). RK leaders need to go on the event.

Chartering – Al Barber

Still trying to get in touch with Adam Aviles.

Training – Al Barber

NRMC – 9/8/17-9/10/17 Whiteford, MD
Let Al know if you have commanders that need to be trained (especially Basics, Essentials)
Online courses are available.

FCF – Steve Jenkins

Thanks to Steve and Steve Martin for the great job at the Trace.
The Trace was great. Bill Reiger did a great job as his first year as President. A little concerned that there were only a few people from this section that attended. Currently only one Young Buck (Ben Martin, Outpost 118). Steve will be reaching out to outposts with information to give to the boys about FCF. Helps to retain the older boys.
Will have info at the PowWow about FCF.
Power in prayer – leaders met for prayer; rain stopped, clouds cleared before Friendship Fire; clouds returned afterwards.
NE Region – Colonials Territory; NJ District – John Fenwick Chapter is #1 chapter in the nation.
FCF wants to sponsor outposts in Kenya. BGMC push right now is to start 600 outposts in Kenya. $429 to start an outpost. At LEAD, from Friday afternoon through Sat. morning, $61,000 was raised. District is looking to help out with that.
Missions/BGMC

Ranger Derby – Aaron Biernacki

Ideas…
Best in Class Judges – no cars in outpost to judge. BIC will be judged Friday night
Develop registration plan so it doesn’t take up all the time of the host church.
Participation ribbons for all entrants
For hosting church – plain tablecloths, centerpieces because they were disappearing
Need someone else to announce instead of John
Start an “outlaw class” where only rule is 5 oz….
Take pictures of BIC to show on screen.
Have parents sign Model Release form so we can post photos on website. “If your son wins, his photo may be posted on the website.”
AL – wants to discuss price differential for Saturday registrations

$2525.40 balance

NJRRAA – Aug 20-25
