Devotion – Tom Buck
Christian leadership and what it looks like. It is important to constantly take inventory of where we’re at, how we’re functioning. Principles for successful leadership are in the Word of God.
-
- The Christian leader is a servant. Matt 20:26 Whoever wants to become great must first become a servant, doing tasks that others don’t want to do. Requires heart rather than talent & gifting. God is looking for the heart to be in the right place Matt 15:8
- The Christian leader looks to other leaders. Heb 13:7 It’s important to have other leaders to speak into your life and as examples to watch and learn from. Build relationships with those who will not only lead by example but who are also willing to mentor you as a leader.
- The Christian leader places their trust in God. Is. 41:10 Do not fear for I am with you… John 16:33 “take heart, for I have overcome the world.”
- The Christian leader helps others to lead. Philippians 2:4 They don’t just lead, but teach others to lead as well. Leadership is a skill in addition to being a gifting or talent. Developing it needs experience and practice.
- The Christian leader walks in humility. James 4:10 Humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up.
Sectional Leaders Report – John Fudalik
- John received partial shipment of NRA archery equipment – 6 RH, 4 LH Genesis bows, arm guards, finger guards, targets, 200+ arrows. Looking at doing BB gun and air rifle for this year. We will be doing some training for instructors. John is a certified basic archery instructor/trainer. Scott Adams offered the gym at Calvary Lighthouse as a possible indoor location.
