August 14, 2017

Opening Prayer – Steve Jenkins

Devotion – John Fudalik

God is always right on time. Carnival Theme PowWow – we needed a speaker; Cmdr. John ended up stepping up and doing the devotion; he can’t remember what he said, but God spoke through him and gave him the words.

Commanders Report – John Fudalik

Busy getting ready for Academy.

District PowWow – Sept 15-17 – John Fudalik

  • We need help.
  • 3:00-4:30 Friday – ECSS responsible for the gate
  • Our section was assigned the Obstacle Relay – everything should be there for us; we need to supply the personnel. John will talk to Bob Carlino to get clarification about the activity…will all equipment be there ready for us?
  • John involved in the Archery and Field Layout.
  • Sunday cleanup – trash cleanup – everyone. Remember – tin foil, aluminum pans with food on them is trash, not recyclable. Bottles and cans are recyclable. Trash/recycling area will be open at specified times (see packet).
  • Restrooms in the lodge are off-limits to boys (and perhaps commanders? Check this).
  • Review the information in the packet; prepare the boys for outpost patrol formation.

Chartering – Al Barber

  • It’s chartering season!
  • Only chartered outpost are covered by Rangers insurance at events.

Training – Al Barber

  • NRMC – 9/8-9/10 in Whiteford, MD
  • EMPOWER 18 = March 16-17 in Harrisburg. Trying to line up with Children’s Education conference being held in the beginning of the week in MO; National Conference at the end of the week, so commanders are already there.
  • Leadership Merits at Outpost 118 this past Saturday. 28 boys in attendance – 15 DR and 13 AR. Steve J – the boys responded well to everything and got involved in all of the activities of the day. No real downtime, so the boys didn’t get bored.

FCF – Steve Jenkins

  • Would like to see more FCF member participation at PowWows – in outfits, etc.
  • Another idea: maybe go to different outposts in outfits to get more interest among commanders and boys.
  • Rhoda will send Steve outpost info – what night they meet and commander’s contact info so he can get in touch with them.

NJRRAA – Aug 20-25

  • Up until a few days ago, we were about 5 shy of having enough registered attendees.
