“Forgiveness” – We shouldn’t hold things in or against anyone. We should look at things that happen as “water under the bridge” and not hold it against people. Put anything that’s not right behind us.

Sectional Leaders Report – John Fudalik

Change of venue for the PowWow – too many loose ends, so we’re going to Allaire. Price difference <$400 going there instead of to Wall.

Used names to reserve sites since the State needs a name for each individual site.

Sectional PowWow – June 1-3 at Group Campsite in Allaire

Theme: “I Survived”

Friday night – AR, ER Council Fire

Saturday morning – normal …Opening, RK Field Day*, events (Flag football, Mega Jenga, 2-man slingshot *need good cleanup crew (balloons) – 2 commanders to hold it; a boy to fire, Obstacle Course/Relay Race

Afternoon: DR, AR, ER Survival Challenge starting at 1:30. Groups need to sign up; given Survival Emergency Kit. Guided by guides…Team of 3-4 to 1 guide.

Phase I – Leader assists them in setting up shelter, etc. Give them guidance as they’re going through; don’t set them up to fail. They’ll get a pamphlet in the kit with pictures & suggestions to make the shelter. Set up a fire in a fire pan. Use compass to set up flag pole. Set up makeshift food “trap” – reuse box with emergency kit.

Phase II (after Council Fire) – Boys must tend their fire/guard their flag all night beginning at a time to be announced at the end of the Council Fire. Someone ends up “breaking an arm or a leg” and isn’t available to watch the fire/flag.

Each team has to bring a backpack with them to the PowWow. Should contain an emergency whistle, drinking water, snack food, Bible, compass, ponchos/garbage bags

*If transporting RK to off-site fishing spot, must include that on the permission slip.

RK Field Day – Games…one is “Firefighters challenge” for kids w/hose…

Ranger Derby – Steve Martin

Good feedback – people liked the track up on the tables. Need to put plywood on the tables. Thanks to everyone who helped with the derby.
