NJ EAST CENTRAL SOUTH SECTION
Royal Rangers Roundtable
March 13, 2017
Opening Prayer – Peter Frentz
Devotion – Scott Adams
Preparing your heart – you’re supporting your brothers
- Know who God is
Stewardship – Gen. 5:20 where Joseph assures his brothers – you intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish His purposes
Discipleship – 2 Cor 1:20 – promises of God Yes and Amen
Mentoring – Heb 4:1
- Stay committed
Unlike King Rehoboam 2 Chron – he did evil – Look at Abraham’s faith, Moses’s faith – they had an understanding of God because of their knowledge of who God was
Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you will prevail - Keep in His Word
The blessings and promises will be a lifestyle – eternal life, forgiveness, Holy Spirit, finances, healing, wisdom, guidance, children, family, marriage, peace, protection, resurrection
Commanders Report – John Fudalik
- New outpost – Outpost 159 (Bayville) – Adam Aviles
- For tomorrow, pray for traveling mercies for those from NJ heading out to Missouri for LEAD conference. Ellwood may not be able to make it due to weather.
- Ranger Derby was a success!
- Aaron can’t attend tonight due to the storm coming – he works for the county, so he needs to make sure the vehicles are ready
Chartering – Al Barber
- Try to get charter in early (Sept-Oct)
Training – Al Barber
- Steve Shultz left National Office as Training Coordinator (moved to RRI)
- New National Training Coordinator – David Morrison (?)
- Ranger Basics and CPR/First Aid classes on Mar 25th cancelled due to lack of participation
- WCO in Vineland – March 31-April 1
- NEEC – April 28-29 – Haverhill, MA – Register on National website
- If you have commanders that need Basics and/or Essentials, email Al so he can let Harvey know how many need those classes.
- We need more instructors in the section.
FCF – Steve Jenkins
- April 21-23 – Trace @ Camp Blueberry. Our section: flint & steel
- Bill Rieger (New President) – this is his first trace.
- Non-members can come during part of the day on Saturday
- Roster Steve got from Ray Skinner isn’t up to date, so Steve will contact the outposts to get an updated list.
Ranger Derby – Steve Martin
- Derby was very successful. Thanks for all involved – judges, kitchen, etc.
- Any feedback?
- Camera at finish line must be on a tripod.
- Work on video switching delay
- Not sure how many more cars we would be able to accommodate in the room
- Food was good
- LEGO building contest was well received
- Decorations were supposed to be left there for the outpost derby the following day, so make an announcement next year that the centerpieces must be left there.
- Made the section about $650. Only cost: trophies & patches.
- Al Barber – kids in pit area were taking cars off the table and handing them to people behind him; pit crew needs to understand what their responsibilities are. Need to know ahead of time who the judges are. One car, one sheet…judges need to be trained on how to judge. There needs to be communication between the judges regarding which cars will be judged.
- Next year: Judging will be done on Friday night instead of Saturday morning.
- Remind outposts to bring their cars with graphite on the wheels (race officials won’t be responsible for putting graphite on)
Camporama – 2020
Start planning events to raise money for the trip (registration, gas money, sightseeing, hotels, etc.) Probably about $500-$600 per boy. 4700 attendees from USA; 300-400 from other countries.
Finances
Allaire $1,060.00
Derby trophies: 238.00
Balance: $1,996.90
SuperTimer bill outstanding (track parts)
Income from Derby will be added.
NJRRAA – August 20-25, 2017
Miscellaneous/Open discussion
Fundraising – car show – Jeff?
Raffles are pretty much not an option since most churches look upon them as gambling. Also would need to get a permit from the NJ Gaming Commission
Next Roundtable meeting:
Date: April 3
Location: TBA
Devotion: Steve Jenkins
Closing prayer – Al Barber
