NJ EAST CENTRAL SOUTH SECTION
Royal Rangers Roundtable
February 11, 2019
Opening Prayer – Jesse Martin
Devotion – Steve Martin
History of Rangers – 1962 Johnnie Barnes was a youth director before starting Rangers. Original purpose: disciple young men and keep them in our churches. JB was National Cmdr for 27 years. Reached 2 million boys. Example: Paul & Timothy – 1 Tim 1:2 Timothy was Paul’s true son in the faith…likeminded. v 3-5 Stay away from vain babblings; stay focused on loving from a pure heart and; v 18-19 Wage the good warfare; 4:7 Stay focused…reject old wives’ tales; 12-13 Let no one despise your youth; be an example. Paul, the mentor was constantly calling Timothy higher, encouraging him to stay focused and true to the Word of God. 6:11-14 Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness… v20-21 Guard what was committed to your trust….turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge.
The RR emblem can be used as we mentor and encourage the boys in our outposts.
Sectional Leaders Report – John Fudalik
Those who owe for the derby cars need to pay ASAP; funds came out of our account to initially purchase them.
Winter Day – we’ve been asked to do the opening instead of the closing.
Deputy Commanders Report – Aaron Biernacki
- Sectional PowWow will be at Nomoco (Turkey Swamp) – May 31-June 2
- There are special rules for County parks; Aaron will let us know the rules.
- 4 cabins, so we have shelters available. Some sites have 12×14 platform tents. *Bring tents anyway, just in case.* *Bring insect spray*
- Aaron needs 5 representatives to sign in the sites…need Monmouth County residents 21+ (price better for Monmouth Co.)
Peter Frentz, Aaron, Tom Buck, (Tom will ask the cmdrs from MWC) - Theme: Olympics? Think of events that would go with a theme. Chariot Racing… If you think of a theme with some great events, let Aaron know.
- Afternoon – free time.
- Check for price of boat rentals, etc…let parents know to send more $$.
- RK going fishing in the morning, so rest of RR not allowed to the lake until after they’re done.
- Steve M. idea: give out ribbons to all the boys who are part of the winning team so that they all get something (currently multiple boys “share” one trophy).
- Motion made and carried: Steve – find out how much $ to purchase 1000 medallions with RR emblem. “East Central Section South” above emblem; “Royal Rangers” below emblem. Bring findings to next roundtable.
