Opening Prayer – Joe Schroepfer

Devotion – John Fudalik

Story of Gideon – “who am I to be in charge of this army?” God replied “You didn’t choose me; I chose  you.” If God chooses you, He’ll put a burden on you until you answer the call. We’re here for a couple of reasons – the boys, to bring other boys to Christ, to mentor boys in to mature Christian men. As Ranger leaders, we need to live upright lives…boys will see hypocrisy. We need to be concerned about the boys, not the program.

Sectional Leaders Report – John Fudalik

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Aaron & John will get together regarding the Sectional PowWow. District PowWow theme will be Men of God. Could tie into a Knight theme.

Trying to find out from the state to see if they’re doing anything to remediate the bathrooms at Allaire.

Winter Day – Feb. 17-18 in Medford

Get together to make sure the same people aren’t assigned to work the same activity the whole day.

Chartering – Al Barber

According to what we’ve heard, all 10 outposts in our section should be chartered now, with 38 OP, 32 AG, 6 Independent; 758 Rangers, 211 leaders

Training – Al Barber

Empower 17 – Jan 27-28 in Harrisburg

Top Ranger program has been cancelled due to lack of participation. If you have any input/ideas how to make it work, let Dwight Walters know.

Ellwood wants to know if anyone wants to go to LEAD 17 (March 16/18) – getting a church van to go out.

National camps – Nothing in NJ; no NEEC scheduled yet this year.

NRMC in Florida

Awards – GMA changes. 2010 application no longer valid; must switch over to new application.

Gold Falcon, Gold Hawks, DR Bronze, Silver, E1, E2 no longer restricted awards. New forms on National Site…Multiple Recipient Award Application. Outpost Coordinator is the signing authority (honor system).

 

Ranger Derby – Steve Martin

115, 35, 44, 118, 51 participating

We’re not calling it “Best in Show” … rename it “Best in Class” and have one for each class.

Judging sheet passed out by Steve was approved.

Judges: DON’T TOUCH THE CARS. Figure out a way to do the Best in Class judging with the class cars grouped together, then rearrange for racing. Colored sticker for each class?

New Sectional MPact coordinator…contact her to get list of coordinators to invite them

Concession – any suggestions let Steve know.

Current rules are on website. *Update the rules.

Decision: if a car is registered, the car can win even if the boy isn’t there, as long as the senior commander will verify that the boy built the car.

Maybe try to explain how the speed rankings are calculated.

Finances – No new payments or deposits

Balance: $3,294.90
