Message from the Sectional Commander

Thomas A. Buck

Greeting Leaders of the East Central Section South Royal Rangers,

As your new Sectional Commander I wanted to give you a chance to get to know me as I will be doing the same over the next few months.

First and foremost, I thank our Lord Jesus Christ for this opportunity to serve both Him and you in this Awesome MINISTRY. I capitalized the word Ministry, because it is important that we recognize Royal Rangers as a Ministry and not a program. If we think of Royal Rangers as a program that is all it will be.

In this letter I want to share things about me with you and also share some of the things on my heart for this Ministry and Section.

I fellowship at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Tinton Falls where I serve as Senior Commander of Outpost #61. I am a Certified Instructor, and have served on JTC staff at Advancement Academy for the past three years and look forward to many more.

I began my journey into Royal Rangers at the age of five as a Honey Bear now known as Rainbows.

At the age of six I moved into Straight Arrows and have been in Royal Rangers since.

I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior at the age of eight as a Buckaroo during a Pow Wow Council Fire, Thank you Lord!

At the age of eighteen I was asked by my Senior Commander and Pastor to hold the position of Lieutenant Commander in my Outpost, Outpost #61. I gladly accepted this offer to further serve the Lord and the Royal Rangers Ministry.

At the age of 21 I became a Commander just after completing LTC (Leadership Training Camp).

In September of 2001 I went through phase one testing on the District Pow Wow and in March of 2002 joined into the Frontiersman Camping Fellowship after completing phase two testing.

In 2003 My Senior Commander and Pastor asked me to take over as Senior Commander of Outpost #61.

In 2006 I was asked onto the JTC staff at the New Jersey District Royal Rangers Advancement Academy and in September of that year I also attended NTC (National Training Camp) in Camp Roosevelt, Woods Town, NJ.

In 2007 I was asked to serve as Sectional Public Relations Coordinator and was moved to Deputy Sectional Commander In 2008.

I would like the opportunity to visit the outposts in the section on their meeting nights. This is not for surveying or critiquing, but a chance for me to meet the commanders in the outposts and build relationships.

I believe He has many great things in store for our section and we are going to see growth with many boys and leaders being Saved, Renewed and Baptized in the Holy Spirit.

I believe I am an open minded person and welcome any input you have to offer. I know I can not run the section alone.

One of my responsibilities will be to build a Sectional Staff that will serve as the core of our Section. These leaders will not be chosen without prayer and the direction of the Holy Spirit. Above other requirements these leaders must be Spiritually Mature, God Fearing, Prayerful and Dedicated to the Royal Ranger Ministry.

I am EXCITED about our section and what God wants to do in it. I thank the Lord for the work he has done in me and using me in this Awesome Ministry. I look forward to serving Him and you more and more in Royal Rangers.

May God Bless you!

Shadowed under the Richness of His Grace and Mercy,

Thomas A. Buck
